Powerball results from Delaware: $30 million prize pool
NEW YORK (AP) A new Powerball drawing will bring $30 billion to the U.S. economy in a year, according to the lottery’s website.
The winner of the 2017 drawing, based on the number of numbers drawn in a particular year, will earn $5.7 billion and the loser $1.5 billion.
That will equal a $1 trillion annual impact on the U, the lottery said Monday in a statement.
The winning ticket will then go on to the state of Delaware where the winning numbers are used to determine the winner.
The winners are selected based on a “probability” system and the total number of tickets drawn will depend on the state’s population.
In addition, the winners will receive a $30,000 prize.
The state has also chosen to award one of its own tickets to the winner, which could make the prize even more attractive.
There are only 21 states in the country that have the same jackpot.
